Giuliano Koren is a freelance photographer based in Trieste, Italy, where he was born in 1974.
He studied visual communication and photography at the ISIA (Higher Institute for Artistic Industries) in Urbino, Italy, between 1996 and 2000. In this period he also attended a photography course at the University of Plymouth, England, gaining experience with colour printing and taking in-depth classes in photojournalism.

He has been working as a freelance photographer since 2008. His main interests include national and international photojournalistic reportage, commercial photography and advertising. He has been represented by the agency Corbis Images since September 2011.

His work has been published on several magazines such as L’Espresso, Vanity Fair, TIME, Stern, D La repubblica delle donne, Wired, D casa, Focus, Internazionale, DAMN, and Kaleidoscope.
In 2010 he exhibited pictures taken in Kosovo at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid during the PHotoEspaña event, he was included in the volume "200 best AD photographers worldwide" and he was also selected and included in the Warzone exhibition of the Noorderlicht Photofestival - the Netherlands, with the images of his reportage taken in Afghanistan while embedding with the Alpine Troops Brigade Julia.
